Kate Kemsley graduated in physics and worked for some years as a patent examiner, before moving into academia. Her early career was in applied spectroscopy and sensor design; subsequently she specialized in data analysis and the emerging discipline of chemometrics. Over the course of two decades, these have been applied to a wide range data types, especially those associated with chemical profiling and metabolomics (NMR, GC-, LC-MS). Kate is author of >80 peer-reviewed articles. She currently holds an Honorary Chair in the School of Chemistry at the University of East Anglia.
