Oxford Instruments Workshop on Battery Material Analysis

Advancing Next-Generation Battery Research and Innovation

OI Korea organized a successful OI Academy workshop "Battery Material Analysis Solution Workshop“ at KETI (Korea Electronics Technology Institute), bringing together professionals from various companies, research institutions, and public universities in South Korea. As the battery industry continues to experience rapid global growth, understanding the properties and structures of materials is becoming increasingly vital to the development of next-generation high-performance batteries.

The event aimed to promote active battery research and improve the use of equipment through a series of presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. Key topics covered included an introduction to battery material analysis using EDS/EBSD, demonstrations of the Raman-SEM (RISE) system, and sharing various research case studies. Participants had the opportunity to explore the basic principles and application examples of Raman and RISE analysis, as well as EDS/EBSD techniques for battery material analysis.

The workshop featured live demonstrations of the RISE system, where attendees could witness battery sample analysis firsthand.

One participant shared, “This workshop was incredibly informative. If there are future battery workshops, it would be great to see more diverse case studies using BEX or EBSD for analysis.” Another commented, “It was valuable to compare actual analysis cases from the field with products in similar positions to Oxford Instruments' offerings. I’m glad I was able to gain some insights from this workshop.”

Oxford Instruments is committed to advancing battery research and offering solutions that drive innovation in this critical field. If you’d like to join the conversation, please check out subscribe to OI newsletter, and follow us for more upcoming events.
