Nb3Sn/Bronze

The bronze route is a robust, well established manufacturing process for Nb₃Sn wire. OST has been producing bronze Nb₃Sn for high field magnets since the late 1970s. Thousands of high field, persistent current magnets have used this wire over the last twenty years, including NMR magnets up to 900 MHz. Bronze provides a reliable, cost effective conductor for magnet field strengths up to the 20 tesla range.

OST provides a range of standard bronze Nb₃Sn wires with internal Cu stabiliser. A sampling of these is shown in the data table.
