Using Cryofree magnets

Cryofree magnets

Oxford Instruments offers a range of Cryofree® magnets.

Oxford Instruments offers Cryofree magnet systems.

They use a mechanical cooler to cool down the magnet. and equipped with room temperature bore with magnetic fields up to 16T. See page on Cryofree magnets.

The same technology can be used to condense and maintain a small buffer of liquid helium for Minimum Condensed Volume (visit the page on MCV magnets ).

Cryofree magnets have several advantages:

·        Running costs are much lower as the only requirement is electrical power.

·        Users are also spared the cost and complication of the infrastructure needed to store and distribute liquid cryogens as well as related Safety issues.

·        Procedures to start up and operate the system are usually much simpler.
